Looney 2009

Merry Christmas to your home from mine.
We hope y'all had a great 2009!

Ours was terrific, but went by so fast.
We're working real hard, but having a blast.

As for Brendan and Mandi, there's nothing new,
But here's this year's scoop on our little crew.

Taylor, 13, has grown so tall.
He's past Mom's height on our measure wall.
He's busy, as always, with band and football.

Nine-year-old Tanner still likes to run.
He loves pocket knives and his air soft gun.
And video games are still lots of fun.

Don't judge Hannah by her size.
Our seven year old is quite a surprise.
She loves to sew, cook, clean, and organize!

Hunter is sweeter than most five-year old boys.
He likes spending time with his cousin and playing with toys.

Kailey, now two, is such a mess!
She has to wear lipstick and a dress!
Her long, brown ringlets are fun to caress.

Drop us a line; let us know how you've been.
Hope to spend some time with you in two thousand ten!

Love,
The Looney's

Pioneer Farms

Our homeschool group, The Royal Academy, had our first field trip today. We loaded up all of our kiddos and went to Pioneer farms. It was really interesting. Here's our kids all gathered on the front porch of an 1800's plantation home.

Paint me in Birmingham

We drove the 800 miles to Birmingham, AL for the ITA's 2009 World Championships & festival.

We caravan with my parents and the Crawfords, a family of our students. The kids did great on the drive.

All of our kids competed in the tournament and did great. Even Nana competed and got 3rd place in sparring! Tanner got a 3rd in forms. Hunter got first, but all cubs get first(That way no one cries). Haven got 2nd in forms and 2nd in sparring. Caleb got a 3rd and a 1st. And Chad and Angel both got 3rd in forms.

Our kids always love going on trips like this. They love swimming in the pool at the hotel. But I think their favorite part is jumping on the beds.

Here is some pictures we took on the way as we crossed form Louisiana to Mississippi.

The Mississippi River

Mississippi's state tree, the Magnolia, had to be climbed.

Rock N River

Rock N River water park is lots of fun. We spent the day there today with our new home school co-op. The boys loved the water slides.

Hannah was bummed because she's not quite tall enough to go on them, but she had fun with all the girls in our group in the lazy river. Mitchell and Hunter loved the little frog water slide. Emma and Kailey both loved running around and splashing in the shallow areas. Staying near the water is pretty much the only way to tolerate this heat. It was 103○ again today! I didn't get very many pics because they were never still enough and I had my hands full with 7 kids and no other adult! (What was I thinking?) It all turned out great though, and we had a blast. But...next time I think I'll take Brendan along;)

The Babies are 1!

June 2ND Emma turned 1 and then Collin turned one on the 3rd! Their parents had a big pool party for them at Nana and Papa's house. It was so much fun! They have grown so fast and are toddling all around now. We just love having them around. They both love to laugh and are so good natured. Not to mention adorable.

Cub Scout Day Camp

Tanner got to attend cub scout day camp at San Gabriel Park this year. He had a great time. Brendan and I each got to spend a day out there with him.

His favorite parts were archery and fishing. He caught a huge catfish. Only 5 boys in the whole camp caught any fish, so we were pretty impressed!

Fishing in January

We decided to celebrate the New Year and the beautiful weather by taking the kids fishing.

The first catch of the day was made by Hunter. It was his first time to catch a fish. He was super excited, but a little bit afraid of it. It's hard to see in the picture because of the shadows, but it's a little perch down by his knee.

Taylor and Tanner had fun fishing and tossing the foot ball around with Brendan and their uncle Francisco. Taylor ended up catching a good sized catfish that we were quite impressed with.

Papa helped Hannah and Kailey fished some too, but they found other things to keep them busy. And to keep me busy. Keeping them from falling in, helping them off trees they'd climbed, ect. My girly girls are so funny when we're out side. They were playing with worms and Hannah found a huge clam that she was so proud of.

I took so many pictures, I'll have to slide show them. Nana played with the kids, took them to the play ground, and helped me chase Kailey. Mitchell and Hunter loved the dinos at the park. Kailey couldn't get enough of the slide. Our little niece Emma played so sweetly on a quilt most of the day. Mitchell caught a fish too. It was just such a perfect day.

New Year's Eve

We had a great time New Year's Eve at our good friend Nathan and Christina's. We played games and had fondue. Everyone stayed up till Midnight this year.

Hunter had so much fun trying to see how many New Year's hats he could wear at once. And Ritz crackers were his favorite thing to dip in the chocolate fountain. Mine too! They taste just like KitKats(yum!)

Hannah is my chocolate lover, so of course she was in heaven.

Taylor and Tanner spent most of the night playing Wii with their buddies Nicolas and Zachary. But came downstairs frequently for chocolate and Ginger Ale.
Kailey got into the chocolate fountain when no one was watching. What a mess! She's lucky she's so cute...

Here she is getting a kiss at midnight. Can you tell it was way past bed time?

Happy New Year!!
