Apron Sewing

Hannah had a sewing day with the other princesses she homeschools with. We had so much fun making aprons with the girls. They chose their own fabrics and ribbons. Hannah did all of the sewing on hers and it turned out so cute!

Hannah's Spring Break Suprise

Hannah went with her Grandma Marcia to Corpus for Spring Break. Brendan has cousins that live there that have a little girl Hannah's age. They are super close and we try and let them spend time together whenever we can.

While she was gone we got rid of Kailey's crib and got the girls bunk beds!

When Hannah got home, she was expecting a surprise because Hunter had told her we had one for her.

She had to close her eyes, and when she opened them she had a cute new pair of shoes we'd gotten her while she was away.

She said thanks and went to put them in her room. Where of course her big surprise was. She was so excited. She jumped up and down and climbed up and down the ladder until bedtime. They really do look cute in their big girl beds;)

Home-School Spring Time Fun

Here's some random pics from our school group these last couple of weeks. The kids are studying plants in Science and have been dissecting seeds and planting stuff to watch it grow. We've had a blast in art; painting, doing paper mache' and making sock bunnies. For History yesterday they went on their own expedition while studying Lewis and Clark. It somehow ended up with everyone in the creek up to their necks! Unfortunately I didn't have my camera, but I'll have to steal pictures from another mom because they were so cute.

Who knew learning could be so fun?

Zip Line Anniversary

For our 11Th Anniversary Brendan and I took to the trees at Cypress Vally Canopy Tours. We had a blast. After some brief instruction at "ground school", they walked us up to a platform 40 feet in the air, where we zoomed across zip lines for the rest of the day.

SNOW!!

We got snow! Real snow! It was so much fun! Our kids had snow ball fights and built snow men. We drank as much hot chocolate as possible. It only lasted one day, but better then nothing. In fact maybe better then more than one day?? It was really cold. And we're such Texans. We really weren't equipped to handle it. We just had to layer the best we could and come in to warm up often. But what a magical day!

♥Valentine's Day 2010♥

January 2010

The year has started out great. We rang in the New Year with our good friends the Davila's. Our kids had a blast playing with their kids and we played cards with the grown ups until way too late at night. We had our traditional fondue and cuddled with Christina's new nephew. New Year's Day we feasted at Nana and Papa's house. Then we set up a tent in the living room of our house, made a camp fire in the fireplace, and roasted marshmallows for our first ever official New Year's Day Cousin Camp. It was a blast and will probably become an annual event;) Taylor's symphonic band played the National Anthem and the Canadian National Anthem at a Texas Stars hockey game. Nana, Papa, Grandma, DiDi, Collin, Trisha, Fringos, Mitchell, and our family all went to watch. It was super fun! The same weekend we all got to go to the Shrine Circus. Kailey loved riding the elephant! And the boys were amazed at the motorcycles on tightropes! We ended the month with an educational field trip to the Texas Memorial Museum. It's a museum of Natural Science with amazing dinosaurs. Our home school group also had a good opportunity to discuss "theory" in the "evolution room" that is featured there right now. Very interesting. With such a busy, but fun month, I'm excited for the rest of 2010!
